Watson Papers spans from his school days at Mercer College in 1873 to his death in 1922, and documents his career as a publisher, prolific author, lawyer, and, most prominently, as a politician. Letters are both to and from Watson, and cover personal, political, and business topics. Also included is correspondence of Watson's family, his secretary, Alice Louise Lytle, his granddaughter, Georgia Watson Lee Brown, and her husband, Walter J. Brown, in connection with The Watsonian, the magazine they published after Watson's death, and a few other miscellaneous items.
