Facing Controversy: Struggling with Capital Punishment in NC

"Facing Controversy: Struggling with Capital Punishment in North Carolina"

This website presents a digital exhibit of a selection of primary source materials that document many of the controversies surrounding the death penalty in North Carolina. Chiefly drawn from the collections in Wilson Library at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, the materials presented in this exhibit will enable students, teachers, and researchers to see original sources and to delve deeper into the history of this issue that has stirred the emotions of North Carolinians for nearly four centuries. To accompany these primary source materials we also present text, timelines, biographies, and resources for further reading. To learn more about conducting research with primary source materials available from the Special Collections at Wilson Library at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, please visit our Web site.

This website is designed to extend the physical exhibit, of the same name, that was on display from January 14 to March 15, 2008 at Davis Library, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
