Scattered family and personal letters received by members of the Alderman family of Fayetteville, N.C. Most of the letters are addressed to Miss Belle Alderman (later Mrs. J. Ed Hawley), and some are addressed to her sister Miss Kate. Six letters are from their brother William Colin Alderman. Belle, Kate, and William were the children of William and Annie Purviance (Jackson) Alderman. Among the correspondents are William T. Purviance and Mrs. L. P. (Floy) Erambert, with mention of Henry Alderman of Sanford, N.C.
