Abstract T. Wingate (Thomas Wingate) Andrews was a school superintendent, 1908-1937, in Orange County, N.C, Reidsville, N.C., Salisbury, N.C., and High Point, N.C.; an official in various religious and state and national educational organizations; and an author on religious and educational themes. The collection includes correspondence, essays and addresses, and poetry by T. Wingate Andrews; church material and Christmas programs; reports from state educational organizations in which Andrews was involved; miscellaneous certificates; and other papers relating to Andrews' career as a school superintendent. Essays and addresses dealing with community issues, temperance, education, and religion compose the bulk of the material.

Andrews was born in Orange County, N.C., and was educated at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill.
