Abstract Lillie Vause Archbell (1854?-1946) of North Carolina was a leader in affairs of the United Daughters of the Confederacy. The collection includes papers written, compiled, and collected by Archbell concerning the Civil War on the North Carolina coast, including historical articles, reminiscences dictated to Archbell, miscellaneous notes, words to Confederate songs, and clippings. Also included is a diary, 1900, which Anne Enid Archbell kept when she was a young girl in Kinston, N.C., and New Bern, N.C.

The collection includes papers written, compiled, and collected by Lillie Vause Archbell concerning the Civil War on the North Carolina coast particularly New Bern, Wilmington, and Hatteras. Items include historical articles, reminiscences dictated to Archbell, miscellaneous notes, words to Confederate songs, and clippings. Also included is a diary, 1900, which Anne Enid Archbell kept when she was a young girl in Kinston, N.C., and New Bern, N.C. There are also a few scattered letters, 1909-1923, to Lillie Archbell about various Southern matters.
