Abstract Braxton Bragg (1817-1876) was a United States Army officer, Louisiana planter, Confederate Army general, and a civil engineer in Alabama and Texas following the Civil War. The collection includes military letters and telegrams from Bragg while he was serving with the United States Army in Missouri, 1852-1855, and as a Confederate general, 1862-1864, and a letter from him to his wife, 1853.

The collection includes military letters and telegrams from Braxton Bragg while he was serving with the United States Army in Missouri, 1852-1855, and as a Confederate general, 1862-1864, and a letter from him to his wife, 1853. Civil war items include telegrams to General G. T. Beauregard and a letter from Major General Robert Ransom containing military information.
