Abstract Trent Busby (1921-1991), gynecologist and obstetrician of Salisbury, N.C., was a graduate of the University of North Carolina and of Johns Hopkins Medical School (1946). In 1953, he opened his practice in Salisbury. In 1963, he became chief of staff at Rowan Memorial Hospital, where he had also served as head of OB/GYN. He retired in 1990. The collection comprises medical records, 1950s-1990s, of Trent Busby's patients. Records provide information on specific illnesses and treatments and on women's health in general.

Trent Busby was born in Salisbury, N.C., on 1 July 1921. He was a graduate of the University of North Carolina and of Johns Hopkins Medical School. After graduating from medical school in 1946, he received a two-year appointment to the intern staff in the gynecology and obstetrics department at Johns Hopkins Hospital. He served in the United States Army medical corps and, while in Japan, was appointed chief of obstetrics and gynecology at Osaka General Hospital, a position he held for 15 months. He then returned to Johns Hopkins as assistant resident in gynecology.

In 1953, Busby opened his practice in Salisbury. In 1963, he became chief of staff at Rowan Memorial Hospital, where he had also served as head of OB/GYN. He published Be Good To Your Body in 1976.

Busby retired 17 December 1990, after 37 years of practicing gynecology and obstetrics. He died on 29 April 1991.
