Abstract The collection contains two military order books for a Tennessee militia regiment and a brigade under the command of John Coffee (1772-1833) during the War of 1812 and the American war on the Creek Nation known as the Creek War (1813-1814) or Red Stick War. The order books are dated November 1812 to April 1813 and September 1814 to March 1815.

John Coffee (1772-1833), white merchant, land agent, surveyor, and speculator of Tennessee and Alabama, commanded Tennessee militia troops during the American war on the Creek Nation known as the Creek War or Red Stick War and during the War of 1812.
