Henry Melville Jackson (1849-1900), native of Leesburg, Va., was an Episcopal clergyman. He was educated at the Virginia Military Institute and the Theological Seminary at Alexandria, Va. He was ordained deacon in 1873 and priest in 1874, by Bishop Johns at Wytheville, Va. He had parishes in Virginia and South Carolina and went to Grace Church, Richmond, Va., in 1876. He was consecrated in 1891 and served as bishop coadjutor of Alabama in 1891. He was sometime editor of the Southern Pulpit and on the staff of the Southern Churchman.
