Abstract Richard Hampton Jenrette (1929- ), native of Raleigh, N.C.; graduate, active alumnus, and trustee of the University of North Carolina; M.B.A., Harvard Graduate School of Business Administration; president, director, and co-founder of Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette, Inc., a brokerage firm in New York, N.Y.; trustee of the National Trust for Historic Preservation; director of the New York Landmarks Conservancy; member, Dutchess County Landmarks Conservancy and New York City Commission for Cultural Affairs. Personal and business correspondence, speeches, writings, notes, photographs, subject files, and financial and legal items documenting the life of Richard Hampton Jenrette, chairman and chief executive officer of Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette, Inc., a trend-setting brokerage firm. The majority of the material concerns Jenrette's business interests, particularly Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette, Inc.
