expand/collapse Expand/collapse Collection Overview

Size 70.5 feet of linear shelf space (approximately 45,000 items)
Abstract Howard Robinson Kornegay was a United States representative from the 6th Congressional District of North Carolina to the 87th through 90th Congresses (January 1961-January 1969) and lawyer of Greensboro, N.C. The collection includes legislative, personal, committee, and general files of Kornegay as Democratic United States representative of the 6th Congressional District of North Carolina to the 87th through 89th Congresses (January 1961-January 1967). Committee files include those Kornegay kept when he was a member of the Veterans' Affairs and Interstate and Foreign Commerce committees. Because the 6th District included Guilford and Alamance counties throughout Kornegay's tenure, much correspondence deals with local affairs and personal concerns from those counties.
