Abstract | L. Q. C. (Lucius Quintus Cincinnatus) Lamar was a lawyer of Georgia and later Mississippi, United States congressman from Mississippi, member of President Grover Cleveland's cabinet, and associate justice of the United States Supreme Court. The collection includes typed copies of seven letters, 1868-1874, from Lamar to relatives and friends, chiefly concerning family and personal matters; and two letters, 1864, to him from James Williams, a friend in London, concerning European attitudes toward the Confederacy. |
