Saint Luke's was an African American parish. Inserted in the volume are two social letters: one dated 26 February 1935 from George Markin to "friend Weston" and another, 25 July 1936, from C. T. Everette to an unidentified correspondent.

Account book of David Minton Wright, a physician in Norfolk, Va., August-September 1855. The book bears this inscription, written by David Minton Warren: "Given by Minton W. Talbot to Pencie Creecy Warren and by her to David Minton Warren, July 1955. This appears to be an account of Dr. David Minton Wright's and (if so) it covers the period of the yellow fever epidemic in Norfolk." Entries give patient's name, a brief indication of visits made, and charges.
