Abstract	The North Carolina Good Health Association, Inc., headquartered in Durham, N.C., was a public relations organization which promoted the activities of the North Carolina Medical Care Commission, a state agency. The Association engaged chiefly in popularizing the building of hospitals, nursing education, and health insurance in rural North Carolina. The collection includes office files of Henry C. Cranford, executive director of the North Carolina Good Health Association, circa 1946-1952, and of George Watts Hill, member of the organization's Board of Directors. Files include promotional material, pictures, and clippings. There is a sizeable group of promotional photographs some of notable persons including Ava Gardner, Isaac Greer, Kay Kyser, Red Skelton, Josephus Daniels, Frank Porter Graham, and Kerr Scott, among others.

The North Carolina Good Health Association, Inc., of Durham, N.C., was a public relations organization which promoted the activities of the North Carolina Medical Care Commission, a state agency. Cranford served as executive director of the organization, circa 1946-1952.

Cranford's files include correspondence, promotional material, photographs, and clippings. Some photographs feature celebrities, politicians, and other notable persons including Ava Gardner, Kathryn Grayson, Skinnay Ennis, Isaac Greer, Kay Kyser, Margaret O'Brien, Red Skelton, Thomas Parran Junior, John Charles Thomas, John Scott Trotter, Josephus Daniels, Frank Porter Graham, and Kerr Scott. Also included is an office file of George Watts Hill, member of the North Carolina Good Health Association Board of Directors.

Also included are photographs of film celebrities, musicians, politicians, notable North Carolinians, and other persons, events, and scenes intended for use in promotional campaigns of the North Carolina Good Health Association.
