During the period of 18 March 1888-11 April 1898 the proprietors of the Occoneeche Hotel in Hillsborough, N.C., were E. H. Hogue, March-August 1888; M. W. McCollum, August 1888-April 1889; L. L. Hassell, April 1889-January 1890 and May-June 1896; and Mrs. L. L. Hassell, June 1896-April 1898.

The collection includes the daily guest register, 1888-1890 and 1896-1898, of the Occoneechee Hotel. Entries include guest name, hometown, time of arrival, and room number.
