Abstract Members of the Price family resided in Mecklenburg County, N.C., and Fayette County and Giles County, Tenn., where several members of the family moved to settle and where many of them owned land. The collection is primarily business and financial papers, with some family letters, of several generations of the Price family. Papers are mainly those of Isaac Price, Isaac Price Junior, and Isaac Jasper Price, and deal with farming, estate settlement, lands and property, medical services, settlement in Tennessee, the Steele Creek Church in Mecklenburg County, and family matters.

Notable family members include Isaac Price (1747-1811), Isaac Price Junior (1788-1833), and Isaac Jasper Price (born 1819).

The collection is primarily business, financial, and legal papers, with some family letters, of several generations of the Price family. Papers are mainly those of Isaac Price, Isaac Price Junior, and Isaac Jasper Price and consist of deeds, bills, receipts, notes, land plats and surveys, and tax accounts. Papers concern farming, estate settlement, sales of slaves, lands and property, weaving, whiskey sales, medical services, settlement in Tennessee, the Steele Creek Church in Mecklenburg County, and family matters. Other families mentioned in the papers include Alexander, Berryhill, Boyd, Davidson, Faires, Grier or Greer, Henry, Hampton, Irwin, Know, Neal, Porter, Springs, and Whiteside. Also included is a large family Bible, containing some Price genealogical notes.
