expand/collapse Expand/collapse Collection Overview

Size 2.5 feet of linear shelf space (approximately 275 items)
Abstract Poet Howard Ramsden was a native of New England, but lived for many years in Leaksville, N.C. His poems were published in a wide variety of publications, including little magazines, literary journals, and daily newspapers. Materials include letters, 1944-1968 and undated, relating to publication of Ramsden's poems. In the late 1940s, these letters are largely from publications that published Ramsden's poems granting him permission to use those poems in a compilation of his works (probably never published). There are also numerous acceptances and rejection slips for poems Ramsden tried to place. Also included are many poems by Ramsden and poems he collected that were written by others, as well as his notes relating to various literary works.
