Abstract Joseph Rennie (1860-1943) was a Presbyterian pastor in Chase City, Va.; Oxford, N.C.; Louisville, Ky.; Covington, Ky.; Norfolk, Va.; Greenwood, Miss.; St. Joseph, Mo.; and High Point, N.C.; 1888-1935. The collection includes family and personal correspondence of Joseph Rennie. Letters are concerned chiefly with family and personal matters with some allusions to church affairs and the welfare of Southwestern College, Memphis, Tenn. Also included are letters of congratulation and of sympathy, sermons, a notebook, clippings, biographical sketches, and a clergyman's record of services.

Joseph Rennie (1860-1943) was a Presbyterian pastor in Chase City, Va.; Oxford, N.C.; Louisville, Ky.; Covington, Ky.; Norfolk, Va.; Greenwood, Miss.; St. Joseph, Mo.; and High Point, N.C.; 1888-1935. Rennie was born in Richmond, Va., and was educated at Richmond College, Hampden-Sydney College, Union Theolgical Seminary, Richmond, Va., and Central University (later Centre College) in Kentucky. He married Ellen Eugenia Goodall, 1888, and had four children, Mary Christian (Mrs. Robert Job Wyatt); Edith Cecil (Mrs. H. V. Carson); Eugenia Christian (Mrs. L. L. Rose); and Joseph Rennie. Rennie retired from the ministry in 1935 and spent his last years in Raleigh, N.C.
