INCOME: Husband farms but can only raise a few of their own needs. They have no other apparent income. Groceries cost $3 a week and taxes are $11 a year.

HOME CONDITIONS: House has 5 rooms and there are 60 acres of land. They own 2 cows, 3 pigs, 45 chickens and a horse. Although their house is in poor condition they seem to have enough to live on. They have been stringing for 5 years and make $20.00 a month. Three of her daughters help her. They use this money to buy all their clothes. They enjoy stringing bags.
